NetSuite and The Guise of Uptime
July 3 10:10 AM PST by Peter Robus
Our company has been using NetSuite online accounting software and customer relationship management software for just over one year. Unfortunately, the experience has been more than we can take and we're now converting from NetSuite to another hosted accounting software system. While NetSuite's (offshore in the Philippines) customer support is terrible and the company's month-end sales tactics are despicable, the straw that broke the camels back were the constant software defects and system downtime which prevented our business from performing every-day essential activities. Logging into the system and discovering several features that previously worked no longer work has became a routine experience. As pointed out on the NetSuite Wordpress blog, key functions in NetSuite can be completely unavailable or inoperable, however, NetSuite seems to consider their software as a service 'up' (and not eligible for downtime guarantee reimbursements) if any single portion of their business software system is up. Hardly a good faith definition of uptime. We've had enough. If I had shed a tear every time NetSuite failed our company, the world's coastal cities would be underwater. While our company remains satisfied with the SaaS model, I would not recommend NetSuite under any circumstance. Let the buyer beware with NetSuite.

We're moving to Aplicor. We have a subsidiary that has been using Aplicor for both accounting software and CRM software for just about two years and they whole heartedly embrace and recommend the system.
